Fisherman's trail / Rota Vicentina
PORTUGAL
A wonderful transition along the Portuguese coast from north to south, which really everyone can do.
The elevation gain is minimal, only some sandy sections in the north are more difficult.
The route was largely created by connecting the footpaths that local fishermen used to access the coast - so it runs mainly along the Atlantic Ocean and offers beautiful views of wild cliffs and sandy beaches. But there are also passages passing through towns and villages, dirt roads and forest stages, and all this together makes up a beautiful and colorful mosaic of the Portuguese landscape. Sleeping is ideal in hostels, each of which has its own unique atmosphere and I have had the best experience with them.
